Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement company policies and regulatory quality standards across all product manufacturing processes.
  • Perform, document, and evaluate chemical and physical tests to control production processes and ensure the quality of in-process and finished goods.
  • Audit and review quality data in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain records for compliance and nonconformance management, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify and report deviations from quality standards and practices to supervisors and shift leadership.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Create or update protocols for capturing, investigating, and documenting product complaints.
  • Investigate product quality issues and oversee resolutions in alignment with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Verify that active processes conform to standard operating procedures and specifications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for project work and experimental initiatives in collaboration with department managers.
  • Identify rejected materials, ensuring proper classification, disposition, and resolution.
  • Record and analyze data from experimental and project-related workflows, offering relevant insights and technical recommendations.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, best practices, and product evaluation protocols to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct process audits based on established operational procedures to ensure consistent adherence to quality and safety practices.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, with a preference for industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, terminology, and tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including professional journals, governmental regulations, and business periodicals.
  • Capable of writing clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Adept at delivering presentations and responding to inquiries from colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Mathematical & Technical Proficiency:
  • Advanced knowledge of mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to solve practical issues in quality control and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise levels are typically moderate, and accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing shifts or schedules as determined by management.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly walk stairs and traverse the plant multiple times during a shift.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 15 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
